Last week was the National Electric Drive Week! I was invited by Plug In America to attend an event in Gardena, California. Once I arrived, I was honored to have been asked by the City Manager to use my electric car as one of the show cars.
A couple of the community members volunteered their cars as show cars as well. Dealerships provided test drives for attendees who were interested in testing out an electric car. There was even a fully converted electric bus on display for the city. Apparently, California is requiring all of the new city buses to be electric by 2029. We were able to take a look inside and also see poster boards images of the process.
Electric Drive Week is a great push to get people excited about electric cars. There are so many incentives and rebates available to car drivers who purchase an electric cars. From federal tax credits to state rebates and also company incentives; the amount of money back we can receive will more than offset a downpayment. We have to really appreciate the initiative to preserve the environment and really go green.
With all the smog, California could really use an influx of electric cars and a major decrease of gas guzzling cars.
